# Extract Instagram Captions From a Whole Profile: The Useful Way

You open a creator's profile in your niche, copy the caption from the first post and paste it into a Google Doc. Same with the second, then the third. By post 30, the file is still called "Untitled document (3)", it's huge and it hasn't produced a single conclusion. Half the Reels have a caption that's just an emoji and "link in bio".

The short answer if you want to extract Instagram captions: the platform doesn't export captions from other people's profiles. For your own profile, there's the account data download. Below are the options that actually exist, plus one route that gives you the text already analyzed, along with the speech from the videos and the slides from the carousels.

For each option, look at three things: how long it takes, which profiles it works on and what risk it puts on your account.

Three common posts in any niche:

Anyone who extracts only the caption concludes that the profile "writes little" or that "emojis drive engagement", and misreads what works. That's why Creathoria's profile analysis reads the image, the carousel slide by slide and the video, through the caption or the transcript of the speech. If your focus is what gets said in videos, see [how to transcribe Instagram Reels with AI](https://creathoria.com/articles/how-to-transcribe-instagram-reels).

Instagram is on every plan. TikTok and LinkedIn start with Creator. To analyze a single post, paste the link into **Analyze and recreate**, on the site or in the app. If you work in Claude or another agent, the Creathoria skill analyzes profiles right in the conversation. To go from one specific Reel to the script, read [transcribe Reels: from link to analyzed script](https://creathoria.com/articles/transcribe-instagram-reels-script-analysis).

The extracted text only becomes a content idea when you ask it questions. These seven work in the profile chat or as a checklist for reading the dossier:

In the chat, write the way you'd talk to a colleague: "In the five top-ranked posts, what does the speech say that the caption doesn't?"

When you paste raw text into a generic chat, the answer tends to be a generic summary, because the AI has no hook, format or ranking to lean on. The reason is explained in [how to use AI for social media content research](https://creathoria.com/articles/how-to-use-ai-for-social-media-content-research). To compare with what performs on your own profile, see [how to find your best-performing social media content](https://creathoria.com/articles/how-to-find-your-best-performing-social-media-content).

For a backup, the route is Instagram's data download. To study your own profile, Creathoria has **Own profile analysis**: what worked, your real tone and the themes you've already covered. All of it feeds into planning.

In **Post personality** (web), the AI reads the actual text of your posts and extracts your spoken and written voice, rhythm, expressions, catchphrases and the way you address your audience. That goes into every piece. With **Faithful reproduction** on, the intensity matches your posts, but the tone of voice from the briefing always wins.

In practice, new pieces come out sounding like you and don't read like AI text. To take this further, read [social media content strategy built from your own posts](https://creathoria.com/articles/social-media-content-strategy).

In **Analyze and recreate**, the **Create post with AI** option lets you choose what to do with the post: react, inform, counter, go deeper, apply it to your niche, use the formula with a different subject, recreate it in the brand's voice or adapt it for the brand. The AI takes the mechanism and never copies the author's phrases, numbers or stories.

The dossiers of your references and of your own profile feed the planning automatically. Each content idea comes with a theme, audience question, hook, structure, format and goal.

So you don't have to redo the extraction every month, the **Reference Radar** (starting with Creator) summarizes what your references posted, at the frequency you choose: trends, ideas with a hook for your brand, hooks to test and posts to study. The summary shows up on screen, in the bell and by email. For the ethics side, see [how to research reference creators without copying anyone](https://creathoria.com/articles/how-to-research-reference-creators).

Instagram doesn't offer that export for other people's profiles, and the tools that promise it ask for your login and put your account at risk. In Creathoria, you add the @ as a reference profile. The AI reads the posts you choose and organizes everything in the dossier, and the profile chat fetches the full transcript of a post when you need it.

Use the "Download your information" option in Instagram's Accounts Center. You get a file with your posts and captions. To study your voice and what worked, use Own profile analysis and Post personality in Creathoria.

Yes. Creathoria's AI reads the video through the caption or the transcript of the speech, and reads carousels slide by slide. More details in [how to transcribe Reels](https://creathoria.com/articles/how-to-transcribe-instagram-reels).

Yes. Profile analysis works with Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn (personal profile or company page). Instagram is on every plan, and TikTok and LinkedIn start with Creator. YouTube isn't analyzed.

"Untitled document (3)" can stay in your folder, where it will probably never be opened again. In the dossier, the profile's hooks, structures and ranking are already separated, and you finish reading with a subject for your next post.

Pick the reference profile you study most and add its @ in Creathoria during the 14-day trial. Your card is registered and you're only charged at the end of the trial. Then open the dossier.
